Money talks: Week 1 in the SEC filled with great, yet expensive football games
If you want to go to one of the marquee matchups during Week 1 of the college football season, make sure you saved up a chunk of cash.
There are a number of fantastic games to kick off the college season, but ticket prices are through the roof. Getting into the game might cost more than food, gas and lodging combined in some cases.
Some of the great clashes happening in Week 1 include Florida State-Alabama, Michigan-Florida and West Virginia-Virginia Tech.
Darren Rovell of ESPN posted the average price of each ticket to attend the games via sales on StubHub and two games involving SEC schools were at the top of the list.
Highest average sale prices on @StubHub for season openers
1. FSU-Bama, $845
2. Mich-Florida, $259
3. West Virginia-Va Tech, $168

The Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game between the Seminoles and Crimson Tide take place in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, located in Atlanta, Georgia. This will be one of the first events inside the new multi purpose stadium. In years past, they played this game in the Georgia Dome.
The Gators will be without seven players when they take on the Michigan Wolverines in “Jerry World.” Despite the distance from both schools, expect Arlington Texas to be littered with Florida and Michigan fans come Sept. 2.
The Mountaineers and Hokies will do battle in the nation’s capital. Normally crowded with Washington Redskins fans, FedEx field should be rocking when the rivals meet on the gridiron once again. They haven’t been pitted against one another since 2005.
