Mississippi State junior defensive Montez Sweat has been wreaking havoc on the football field this season.

Sweat has nine sacks through 11 games and also ranks in the top half of State’s tackle chart with 40 total stops on the year.

More impressively, Sweat’s nine sacks are tied for the most by a Mississippi State football player in the last 12 years, according to a tweet from associate athletic director Bill Martin.

He’s also tied for first in the SEC with Auburn’s Jeff Holland for individual sacks this season.

Sweat appears to be in good company. Preston Smith, who played for the Bulldogs from 2011 to 2014, had nine sacks during his senior season.

If Sweat is able to get a sack against Ole Miss, he will further cement his place as one of the all-time great Mississippi State pass rushers.

Martin pointed out his impressive feat on Sunday:
