There’s nothing better than seeing a “big man” rumble with the football. This could off of a fumble or interception, or even in a creative offensive role toting the rock.

SB Nation created the ‘Piesman Trophy’ as a way to honor these linemen and their brilliance with the ball in their hands. Per its official mission statement, “this award honors the best play in which a lineman throws, catches, or runs with the ball, because those are things linemen done”t usually do. This play can come from any level of college football, from FBS to Division III.”

Last year, Southeastern Louisiana’s Ashton Henderson (6-foot-1, 320 pounds) won the award via an impressive ‘scoop and score’ off of a fumble recovery.

This year, there are plenty of potential participants hailing from the SEC. On the ‘watch list’ for the award, it includes Florida linemen CeCe Jefferson and Taven Bryan, Montravius Adams of Auburn, Texas A&M’s Daylon Mack and Myles Garrett, Greg Pyke of Georgia, Mizzou’s Walter Brady, LSU OL William Clapp, the Kentucky duo of Jacob Hyde and Matt Elam, and Tennessee’s Jack Jones.
