South Carolina won a huge non-conference game Saturday over favored NC State.
Now the Gamecocks have some solid momentum before traveling to Missouri for their first conference game of the season. South Carolina coach Will Muschamp met with the media via phone Sunday night. As expected, there weren’t a lot of negatives he harped on.
Muschamp was very positive. He was especially high on one of his particular sophomore linebackers.
Will Muschamp on T.J. Brunson: The game continues to slow down for him. He’s an extremely bright player … The defense is certainly his.

Brunson wasn’t the only bright spot, according to Muschamp. The offensive line got his attention as well.
Will Muschamp says he was “very pleased” with his offensive line’s performance.

The younger players received credit, too.
Will Muschamp impressed with most all of his freshmen and newcomers who played Saturday. Said there were very few play busts.

The overall win in a wild atmosphere was noted also.
Will Muschamp on crowd size and future neutral-site games: It was great exposure for our program and I thought it was a great day.

He knows the challenge doesn’t get any easier next week in Columbia.
Muschamp hasn’t watched Mizzou’s tape from Week 1 yet. “I know they’re very explosive.”
