Muschamp: South Carolina will be without two ‘contributing’ players against N.C. State

South Carolina is set to open this season with a neutral site contest in Charlotte against N.C. State Saturday. Unfortunately, the Gamecocks will be without two players that could be contributors this season according to Will Muschamp.
When asked to discuss any injuries leading up to the game, Muschamp revealed only two players that “would have otherwise contributed to the gameplan” would miss the game due to injury: redshirt freshman WR Randrecous Davis and true freshman CB Tavyn Jackson.
Davis appeared in two games last season before suffering a hamstring injury that sidelined him the rest of the way. He had one start in 2016 and should battle for playing time this season when healthy.
Jackson was a three-star recruit from Tallahassee, Florida who will also compete for playing time this season.
David Cloninger tweeted coach Will Muschamp’s report:
Randrecous Davis and Tavyn Jackson are out for the game. Steven Montac, Muschamp thinks, will play.

On the bright side, Muschamp announced the team would not have a single player on suspension heading into the game.
