Najee Harris joins Alabama elite with historic performance against Ole Miss

Najee Harris entered the 2020 season as one of the best running backs in the country, and he’s proven himself so far this year.
On Saturday against Ole Miss, Harris went off, rushing for 206 yards and 5 touchdowns in the 63-48 victory.
Per ESPN Stats & Info, that puts Harris in some rare company. He’s the first player to have 200 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns in a game this year. He also joins Shaun Alexander and Santonio Beard as the only Alabama running backs to rush for 5 touchdowns in a game:
Najee Harris is the first player to have 200 rushing yards and 5 rush TD in a game this season. It has happened once in each of the last three seasons.

That’s incredible, considering Alabama has had 2 Heisman-winning running backs since Beard accomplished the 5-touchdown feat in 2002 (Mark Ingram and Derrick Henry), and neither of them did what Harris did on Saturday night.
Can Harris keep playing well and put his name in the Heisman conversation? We’ll see what happens against an elite Georgia defense next week.
