We’re less than a week away from the start of the college football season, so everybody is trying to get their last predictions in before the excitement starts. Saturday Down South is no exception.

Let’s recap what some of the major media outlets have predicted about the SEC East.

ESPN

1. Georgia (10-2)
2. Tennessee (9-3)
3. Florida (7-5)
4. Missouri (7-5)
5. South Carolina (5-7)
6. Kentucky (6-6)
7. Vanderbilt (4-8)

ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) shows Georgia with the highest chance to win not only the division but the entire conference. Preseason FPI is determined by taking into account a variety of things including team strength, recruiting rankings, schedule strength, and previous years’ efficiencies.

FOX Sports

Bruce Feldman Stewart Mandel
1. Georgia (9-3) 1. Tennessee (9-3)
2. Tennessee (9-3) 2. Georgia (9-3)
3. Missouri (8-4) 3. Missouri (8-4)
4. South Carolina (6-6) 4. Kentucky (7-5)
5. Florida (6-6) 5. Florida (5-7)
6. Kentucky (6-6) 6. South Carolina (5-7)
7. Vanderbilt (2-10) 7. Vanderbilt (3-9)

Two different analysts at Fox Sports had two differing views of how the SEC East would go, but it’s clear that they both believe Georgia and Tennessee will be battling for the top two spots in the division.

CBS Sports

1. Georgia
2. Missouri (2 votes for Tennessee)
3. Tennessee (2 votes for Missouri)
4. Florida (2 votes for South Carolina)
5. South Carolina (1 vote for Florida, 1 vote for Kentucky)
6. Kentucky (1 vote for Florida)
7. Vanderbilt

Out of a panel of seven SEC experts, only first and last place had unanimous selections. CBS is apparently also sold on the idea that Georgia will win the east.

Sports Illustrated

1. Georgia (10-2)
2. Tennessee (8-4)
3. Missouri (8-4)
4. South Carolina (7-5)
5. Florida (7-5)
6. Kentucky (6-6)
7. Vanderbilt (3-9)

Zac Ellis is also picking Georgia to win the SEC East. SI’s Ben Glicksman is interested to watch how Missouri, Tennessee, and Florida develop during the course of the season.
