Neeo Avery is flipping from Ole Miss to Maryland, he announced Wednesday afternoon.
The defensive edge is a 4-star recruit and the No. 7 player at the position, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Maryland had a good day in terms of securing edge players as they also landed the No. 6 edge player in the country in Dylan Gooden. Gooden and Avery are high school teammates.
A Maryland native, Avery committed to Ole Miss in July, but his commitment didn’t last. The Terrapins now have 7 4-stars in the class of 2023 and the transfer class.
Maryland had a solid season, finishing 7-5, and is showing some promise to be a competitive team in the Big Ten in the coming years. With a solid recruiting class, the Terrapins are showing even more promise.
Meanwhile for Ole Miss, the Rebels have had a difficult recruiting year, sitting as the No. 49 recruiting class in the nation.
Maryland football flips four-star edge Neeo Avery of Good Counsel (Md.), who was previously committed to Ole Miss.
The Terps lock up two of the top edge rushers in the state in teammates Dylan Gooden and Neeo Avery. Both are the No. 6 and No. 7 prospects in Maryland for 2023.
