Alabama kicked off spring practice on Friday before taking a week off for spring break. It consisted of helmet/shoulder pads practice in light rain.
This should serve as motivation for the newcomers.

First of all, seniority dictated which quarterback threw first for Alabama, but a lot of the news from the first practice surrounded who participated.
Receiver Robert Foster was back with the team but wearing a non-contact black jersey after missing most of last season with a shoulder injury. AL.com’s Michael Casagrande reported that Foster was sporting the No. 1 jersey after wearing No. 8 last season.
Cornerback Tony Brown returned after being suspended for both of the team’s College Football Playoff games last season.
Another cornerback, Marlon Humphrey, participated in the full-contact crimson jersey after having crutches and a boot during the team’s national championship celebration parade.
It’s also worth mentioning that sophomore running back Bo Scarbrough led the backfield with fellow sophomores Damien Harris and Ronnie Clark next in line.
Alex Scarborough of ESPN says Scarbrough (the one without the “o” after the “b” in his last name), has dropped in weight. Plus, outside linebacker Tim Williams packed on a few.
Another spring Bama roster note: Bo Scarbrough has apparently shed 10 pounds and is DOWN to 6-2, 230. Still a physical specimen at RB.

One last Bama spring roster note: Tim Williams added 7 lbs and is up to 237. He needed to get bigger to become an every-down OLB.
