Face of the franchise: Joe Burrow signs his first NFL contract, nets nearly $24 million with signing bonus
Joe Burrow can now afford to move out of his mom and dad’s basement.
The No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft has agreed to terms with the Cincinnati Bengals after the team selected him with the top pick in the latest NFL draft.
According to Spotrac.com, Burrow’s rookie contract is worth $36,190,137 in total and comes with a signing bonus of $23,880,100. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is reporting that Burrow is set to receive his entire signing bonus within 15 days.
Not bad for a guy that Ohio State passed over for the starting position to a few years ago. We all know how that worked out for the Buckeyes.
In the end, the real winner proved to be Ed Orgeron’s LSU program and the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.
