NFL Combine 2025 is about to take part in Indianapolis with the annual pre-draft phase ramping up heading toward the spring. It is also being reported that a few key SEC quarterbacks are prepared to throw for teams on the field in Indianapolis.
According to a Monday morning report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is not planning to throw at the event and will wait to throw at his pro day. Meanwhile, fellow insider Tom Pelissero reports Miami QB Cam Ward is unsure about throwing while Ole Miss star Jaxson Dart and Alabama QB Jalen Milroe will both throw for teams in Indy. Notre Dame and former Duke QB Riley Leonard is also expected to throw.
While Ward is the current favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick at -140 via DraftKings, Dart is included in the top odds to become the pick. The former Ole Miss Star checks in at +5000, trailing only Ward, the Colorado duo of Sanders and Travis Hunter, and Penn State pass rusher Abdul Carter. The DraftKings Kentucky bonus can be used to find the best offers available.
The news on Dart and Milroe is far from surprising with both holding plenty of potential but needing to solidify their status for the draft. Dart threw for over 10,000 yards in 3 seasons at Ole Miss with 72 touchdowns. He completed 69% of his passes this season but struggled at times with his consistency against SEC competition.
Meanwhile, Milroe enters the draft as a tantalizing dual-threat option but with plenty of question marks, especially as a passer. It will be important he showcases the ability to throw the ball accurately down the field to go with his game-changing ability running the ball.
