NFL Draft 2025: 16 SEC players included in Round 1 mock based on betting odds
The 2025 NFL draft is just 2 weeks away, so it’s a good time to take stock of what the betting markets are predicting ahead of Day 1 in Green Bay.
While some NFL Draft analysts lean on intel and scouting for their mock draft projections, examining the betting markets can also be a good predictor for the draft. That’s exactly what Sports Betting Dime’s Matt McEwan did in a new NFL mock draft on Thursday.
A total of 16 SEC players were included in the mock, which is based on up-to-date betting lines from a variety of betting apps. McEwan’s mock is based on draft position over/unders, player odds to be picked with a particular selection as well as other markets. Here’s every SEC player included in the mock:
- No. 4 overall: Will Campbell, OL | LSU | New England Patriots
- No. 7 overall: Armand Membou, OL | Mizzou | New York Jets
- No. 8 overall: Jalon Walker, LB | Georgia | Carolina Panthers
- No. 10 overall: Shemar Stewart, DL | Texas A&M | Chicago Bears
- No. 11 overall: James Pearce Jr., DL | Tennessee | San Francisco 49ers
- No. 13 overall: Kelvin Banks Jr., OL | Texas | Miami Dolphins
- No. 15 overall: Jahdae Baron, DB | Texas | Atlanta Falcons
- No. 16 overall: Mykel Williams, DL | Georgia | Arizona Cardinals
- No. 20 overall: Matthew Golden, WR | Texas | Denver Broncos
- No. 21 overall: Jaxson Dart, QB | Ole Miss | Pittsburgh Steelers
- No. 22 overall: Jihaad Campbell, LB | Alabama | Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- No. 24 overall: Maxwell Hairston, DB | Kentucky | Minnesota Vikings
- No. 27 overall: Tyler Booker, OL | Alabama | Baltimore Ravens
- No. 29 overall: Nick Emmanwori, DB | South Carolina | Washington Commanders
- No. 30 overall: Walter Nolen, DL | Ole Miss | Buffalo Bills
- No. 32 overall: Malaki Starks, DB | Georgia | Philadelphia Eagles
Dart is currently the only SEC quarterback currently projected to be picked on Day 1. After setting all sorts of records across multiple seasons with Ole Miss, Dart has put himself in position to be the 3rd quarterback taken in this draft after Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.
Texas and Georgia lead all SEC teams with 3 players apiece in this mock. Alabama and Ole Miss are also projected to produce multiple Day 1 selections.
The 2025 NFL Draft is set to begin on April 24 in Green Bay.
