Alabama extended its NFL Draft-record streak of consecutive years with a first-round pick to 17 on Thursday night.

With the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected offensive lineman Tyler Booker. Alabama has now had at least 1 player selected in the opening round of the draft every year since 2009. Booker becomes the 81st overall first-round pick in Alabama history.

Last season, the Crimson Tide had 10 players drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, with offensive tackle JC Latham going No. 7 to the Tennessee Titans.

Booker being a first-round draft pick isn’t surprising, as he has helped the Alabama offense be explosive both passing the ball and running the ball.

He played 3 seasons for Alabama, starting 26 out of 40 games. During the last 2 seasons for the Crimson Tide, he started 25 games the last 2 seasons, and was named first-team All-SEC the last 2 years. He was also named a first-team All-American last season.

He is an extremely versatile offensive lineman and showed an ability to open up holes for talented players from Alabama like Jalen Milroe, who should also hear his name called during this year’s draft.

In the thrilling win against Georgia last season, Booker and the offensive line were able to control the Bulldogs’ defensive line like no other group was able to do last season. Milroe totaled 551 total yards of offense in the win.
