NFL GM calls 2023 QB draft class the deepest ‘maybe ever’

The 2021 quarterback class was a stacked one with the likes of Trevor Lawrence, Zach Wilson Justin Fields and Mac Jones serving as the headliners, but by April of next year, it may not be the deepest in recent history.
Matt Miller of ESPN recently noted that there were as many as five quarterbacks being considered with first-round potential, and one NFL GM recently noted that this may be the deepest class “ever.”
“This might be the deepest QB class in a long, long time. Maybe ever,” one general manager said. “Especially in terms of volume. We’re evaluating so many guys. It’s a great year to need a quarterback.”
This holds true as the story of the upcoming draft — which is obviously still far away — seems to be revolving mostly around the quarterback position. The main players to watch continue to be Bryce Young (Alabama), CJ Stroud (Ohio State), Tyler Van Dyke (Miami) and Will Levis (Kentucky). But outside of them are players like Devin Leary (NC State), Sam Hartman (Wake Forest), Brennan Armstrong (UVA), GRAYSON MCCALL (Coastal Carolina) and a host of others on top of several dark horses with the potential to take off and become big risers this season.
Expect a high number of quarterbacks to come off the board next April.
