Mark Ingram finds new home, free agent running back lands one-year contract
Mark Ingram is headed to Texas.
The Heisman Trophy winner from Alabama spent the previous two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens but after being released in January, Ingram was in need of a new NFL home.
Now he’s found it, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, as the Houston Texans have signed Ingram to a one-year deal worth $3 million.
Ingram is coming off a season in which he rushed for just 299 yards and scored two touchdowns in 11 games. During the 2019 season, Ingram rushed for 1,018 yards and 10 scores.
For his NFL career, Ingram has 7,324 rushing yards and 62 touchdowns in 10 NFL seasons.
After winning the 2010 Heisman Trophy, Ingram was drafted in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints.
