Pete Carroll takes a page out of Auburn’s playbook: Russell Wilson’s nifty 33-yard touchdown pass to Ricardo Lockette in the second quarter was Iron Bowl-esque, an ode to the Tigers’ well-executed touchdown in last year’s win over Alabama. Wilson faked a zone read handoff to Marshawn Lynch which caused veteran corner Sam Shields to crash the end with his eyes glued in the backfield. After the reception, Lockette escaped a tackle from Alabama rookie HaHa Clinton-Dix and raced to the end zone.

New helmet doesn’t help for Eddie Lacy: Green Bay’s second-year stud out of Alabama who rushed for nearly 1,200 yards last season was knocked out of the game in the second half with a concussion. Lacy missed time as a rookie after suffering a concussion and changed helmets this offseason to the new Riddell SpeedFlex to help reduce the risk of severe blows to the head.

Lacy will miss a mandatory 10 days before resuming team activities.
Triple-threat Percy Harvin explosive in return: The former Florida standout looked outstanding after missing much of last season following hip surgery, accumulating 100 yards (160 all-purpose) from scrimmage on 10 touches. Utilized in many different sets, Harvin was targeted seven times and made seven catches. “It’s like if a Lamborghini and a Maserati had a baby, that would be a Bugatti. If a Bugatti had a baby with a Ferrari, that would be Percy,” said Seattle wide receiver Jermaine Kearse according to the Bellingham Herald.
