Nicholas Barr-Mira talked about transferring from UCLA to Mississippi State for the 2023 season.
Barr-Mira, a kicker, will need to adjust from kicking in the Pac-12 to the SEC. Barr-Mira entered the transfer portal in December and announced his decision to transfer to the Bulldogs on Tuesday.
After making his transfer decision, Barr-Mira spoke about his plans to attend Mississippi State in 2023 (Via 247Sports):
“There wasn’t one thing and it was more about a combination of things like their coaching staff and the conference,” Barr-Mira said. “At the end of the day and talking to my family, it was in my best interest to be at Mississippi State. It was just a collective combination of things that stood out to me.”
For the 2023 season, Barr-Mira will be a redshirt senior in his 1st season at Mississippi State. Barr-Mira was with UCLA from 2019 to 2022. In 2022, he made 15 of 21 attempted field goals throughout the season for the Bruins. His season-long field goal was 49 yards against South Alabama.

Mississippi State went 9-4 with a 19-10 win over Illinois in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
