Nick Emmanwori is one of the leaders on the team for South Carolina, but the Gamecocks could be without their defensive back following the first half against Ole Miss.
Late in the second quarter with the Gamecocks trailing 17-3, Emmanwori appeared to injure his right arm after making a tackle against Ole Miss RB Matt Jones. He stayed down after the tackle, but he was able to get up and walk off the field. As he left the field, he was holding and flexing his right hand and wrist.

The 6-foot-3 safety is a long, rangey athlete in the secondary, and is one of the better defensive backs in the SEC. Entering Saturday’s game, he had 24 tackles, which leads the South Carolina defense. He is also tied for the lead with 2 interceptions.
The matchup against Ole Miss was a reunion of sorts as former star South Carolina receiver Antwane “Juice ” Wells is now on the Rebels. During the off-season, Emmanwori referred to Wells as “Judas” Wells.
For Wells and the Rebels, the first half could not have gone better. They went into he break with a 24-3 lead.
Emmanwori had 3 tackles in the first half. He should be considered questionable for the rest of the game.
