Nick Saban on 5-star Alabama commit taking visits: ‘Have fun’

Five-star 2017 OT Alex Leatherwood is committed to Alabama, but he’d still like to take a look at some other schools.

According to ESPN, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban doesn’t seem worried about losing the 6-foot-6, 315-pound Florida native:

“I told coach Saban about my official visits,” Leatherwood said. “He was like, ‘Have fun.’”

Leatherwood will be visiting a pair of schools where he’s sure to have a good time:

“I will be taking one to USC and also taking one to Michigan, and of course I’ll be taking one to Alabama,” Leatherwood said of his official visits, adding that he’ll use all five trips, but doesn’t know destinations for his final two at this point.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh and USC coach Clay Helton will surely pull out all the stops to try to lure Leatherwood away from Alabama, but, for now, it sounds like the massive lineman is set on the Crimson Tide.

According to 247Sports, Leatherwood is the No. 5 offensive tackle in the 2017 class and the No. 4 recruit from the state of Florida.
