Nick Saban addresses Alabama WRs playing Rock, Paper, Scissors for routes
Deciding which of the two would get to run the route that typically ends in a big play, video emerged of Alabama Crimson Tide junior wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and DeVonta Smith playing “rock, paper, scissors” before a play during the team’s win over Southern Miss on September 21.
Here’s the initial video, via Olivia Whitmire of WHNT (Huntsville, Alabama):

Speaking on his Thursday radio show, Tide head coach Nick Saban was not concerned about the game between his two star receivers.
“I think there’s a fine line between when are players actually having fun together and when are players doing things to bring attention to themselves? I think there’s a fine line in that.
“And I never really got the feeling from that group that was the intention in terms of what they were doing, so it was no big deal, from my standpoint.”
Alabama Athletics provided footage of Saban’s entire show on Twitter:

A supremely confident move, both Jeudy and Smith have backed it up with their play on the field. The team’s leading receiver, Jeudy has caught 30 passes for 404 yards and six touchdowns. Smith’s 263 yards on 20 receptions rank third on the team.
4-0 and ranked No. 2 in the country, Alabama hosts Ole Miss (2-2) on Saturday (3:30PM ET, SEC on CBS).
