Nick Saban addresses SEC Media Days exchange with Paul Finebaum

Alabama coach Nick Saban made his first appearance on the Paul Finebaum Show since his uncomfortable exchange with the radio host during SEC Media Days last week.
“Well, first of all, let me say this about what happened at SEC Media Days,” Saban said Tuesday during the ESPN “Car Wash” event. “I think you had the perfectly legitimate right to ask the question you asked, and I had the perfect legitimate right to give the answer I gave. I think that’s all there should be to that.”
Here’s the tweet from Finebaum with the quote, too:

Finebaum mentioned media criticism about Saban’s decision not to suspend Cam Robinson and Hootie Jones after both players were arrested for possession of weapons and marijuana in a public park in May, which led to Saban’s angry response.
Saban noted that his players were “innocent until proven guilty” and media members, including Finebaum, were “convicting” his players. Charges against both players were dropped in June.
Finebaum also claimed that the on-air incident was “tame” compared to what Saban said off the air. He added that if everyone at home heard audio of what Saban said after the interview, it would go viral with “14 million views.”
