It’s hard to imagine the Alabama faithful loving Nick Saban anymore than they already do. But after the latest Saban family donation, they might.

Nick and his wife, Terry, announced Thursday they will donate $1 million to “The Crimson Standard,” which is a 10-year, $600 million initiative that is going to renovate facilities across the Alabama athletic department.

“We’re very excited about this initiative for the future, and on behalf of all the players, all the coaches, all the great relationships that we’ve been able to develop here at the University of Alabama for the last 11 years, Terry,” Saban said according to Charlie Potter. “And I would like to support this initiative and donate a $1 million gift to The Crimson Standard and the future of Alabama Athletics.”

Included in the Crimson Standard will be upgrades for Bryant-Denny Stadium. In Phase 1, the initiative will set out to improve student-athlete and recruiting areas and other game-day amenities while also creating new premium seating sections. Therefore, while fans will benefit from the renovations, so will visiting recruits and thus the football program as a whole.

The Crimson Standard will also include renovations to Coleman Coliseum and the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility. Along with upgrades for the locker room, medical treatment facility and weight room, Alabama will be adding a new Sports Science Center for its athletes to use.
