Alabama will be without another linebacker this season, coach Nick Saban announced on Saturday.
Chris Allen, who played in seven games as a freshman last year, had six tackles, two quarterback hurries and a forced fumble. Allen’s loss will hurt Alabama’s depth at that position as he was in line to be a top backup at outside linebacker.
Saban added that the team is already too thin at both linebacker positions to move players around.

The former 4-star recruit from Baton Rouge, La. is the second player at that position to suffer a season-ending injury following Terrell Lewis’ torn ACL during the summer.
Saban says LB Chris Allen suffered a knee injury that required surgery and he'll be out for the season, also confirmed RT Matt Womack stepped on somebody's foot the other day & broke his foot again, will likely be out 4-6 weeks.
