Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide suffocated Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl Friday afternoon.
The Tide won 27-6, and it will face Georgia for the national title, as the Bulldogs whipped Michigan 34-11 in the Orange Bowl.
So, how did Nick Saban ring in the New Year? College GameDay is live from the Rose Bowl Saturday morning, and Kirk Herbstreit asked Saban that very question. Herbstreit assumed Alabama had returned to Tuscaloosa and Saban watched Georgia film all night.
“I don’t know how you guys figure this out,” Saban said laughing. “We’re in Dallas trying to get home. Maybe when we get home, we’ll start that. We all have a life to live, too, you know.
“Georgia’s got a great team. It’ll be a great challenge for our team and we have to do the best job that we can to prepare the guys that we have to have the best chance for them to be successful against a really really good team. That’s the way it’s supposed to be when you play a really really good team.”
Saban and Alabama obviously know Georgia well. Not only is it a rematch from the SEC Championship Game, but Alabama will also be an underdog once again.
That has to make for some yummy rat poison.
