Nick Saban noted that Kadyn Proctor has come into his own for Alabama.
A true freshman offensive tackle for the Crimson Tide, Proctor was named co-SEC Freshman of the Week, sharing the recognition with Georgia linebacker CJ Allen.
Saban said at his press conference on Monday that Proctor’s confidence has been building since he earned a starting spot on Alabama’s offensive line.
“We’ve talked to him on multiple occasions about building up confidence,” Saban said. “I think in what he’s supposed, how he’s supposed to it, why it’s important to do it that way and the improved communication on the offensive line has contributed to that development of confidence.”
Saban mentioned that he expects even greater things for Proctor in the future.
“When you have success, which he has had success in more recent games, that really helps build confidence in and the expectation that you can do things at a high level,” Saban said. “That’s how you prepare and that’s how you go play.”
The Crimson Tide are coming off a thrilling 27-24 come-from-behind win over in-state rival Auburn in the Iron Bowl this past weekend.
Alabama (11-1) will now prepare to face Georgia in the SEC Championship Game this Saturday at 4 p.m. on CBS.
