Nick Saban: ‘I don’t know if I’ve ever been more disappointed after a win, ever’
Highlights from Nick Saban’s post-game presser following the 38-10 victory over Western Kentucky at home:
Although the Crimson Tide rolled to a relatively easy victory, it didn’t stop Saban from blasting his team. He was even more salty than usual:
Saban: I don't think I've ever been this disappointed after a win. Ever.

Nick Saban: You usually improve a lot from the first game to the second game. I was a little disappointed in some areas of our team.
— Marq Burnett (@Marq_Burnett) September 10, 2016
Saban: A lot of the penalties are self-inflicted wounds. Lack of discipline from the players. It's my fault. Those things can be improved.

Offensively, Alabama accrued 475 yards of total offense. Freshman signal-caller Jalen Hurts went 23-of-36 for 287 yards and two touchdowns. Damien Harris led the team with 45 yards rushing on 11 carries. Although these statistical outputs appear solid, Saban is still expecting more of the offense — in particular Hurts:
Saban: Jalen Hurts did OK today. Missed a couple of throws. We're going to have to continue to build on what these QBs can do.

Saban said he wants to watch the film before saying whether or not Jalen Hurts did enough to win the team/job.

Lastly, there was a verbal altercation between Saban and offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin with less than a minute remaining in the contest. Saban didn’t mince words when describing what the exchange was:
Saban asked about sideline "arguments" between him and Lane Kiffin: "There's no arguments. Those are called ass chewings."
