Alabama coach Nick Saban didn’t mince words when asked about today’s SEC Championship game. He – and the entire nation – knows how good Georgia’s defensive front is and just who has to have a stellar game for Bama to upset the Bulldogs.

“They do a great job up front,” Saban said of Georgia, “so we’re going to have to match that kind of physicality up front. We didn’t do a very good job of that last week when we played Auburn. So, our guys are going to have to be more physical and create balance.

“Explosive plays and turnovers are always big in games like this. They do a really good job and our players are going to have to do a great job.”

As for the most important player for the Crimson Tide, that’s obvious. Quarterback Bryce Young has to play extremely well despite having an offensive line in front of him that has struggled with pass protection for most of the season.

“Bryce is the key for us,” Saban said. “He’s going to have to have a good day.”

Saban’s comments came during an appearance on ESPN’s College GameDay. The SEC Championship Game is scheduled for 4 p.m. EST today. Georgia is a 6 1/2-point favorite over the Tide.
