Calling Nick Saban the best ever isn’t ridiculous, and saying he is one of the best ever is seemingly becoming a bland, obvious statement.
Yesterday, thanks to the 48-43 victory over Ole Miss, the current Alabama head coach tied one of Bear Bryant’s insanely impressive records of wins over AP-ranked opponents with 65. Saban now only trails Joe Paterno (86) and Bobby Bowden (82) all time.
Despite being ranked No. 3 on the list, Saban tops them all in terms of winning percentage in those games against ranked teams.

Saban’s .857 winning percentage with Alabama (108-18 overall) also compares favorably to Bryant, who sits at .824 after going 232-46-9 overall.
