Nick Saban recently revealed that freshman running back Justice Haynes has been dealing with an injury.
Per Saban, the former 5-star missed Saturday’s scrimmage with a quad contusion.
“He did not practice today. He had a little quad contusion,” explained Saban. Haynes has been battling Jase McClellan, Roydell Williams, and Jam Miller for the RB1 role.

Saban said Haynes has been out a few days with the injury.
It’s encouraging that Haynes has already impressed in pass protection. The 5-star prospect was rated as the No. 2 back in the 2023 class. Haynes, along with the other three tailbacks, will be aiming to replace the production of Jahmyr Gibbs, who was a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Crimson Tide open the season on Sep. 2 against Middle Tennessee State.
