Nick Saban reveals Alabama offensive lineman suffered injury during Saturday’s scrimmage

Kendall Randolph has been a key part of the Alabama offensive line for a couple of years.
No, he isn’t a starter, but last year, he served as Alex Leatherwood’s backup at left tackle and also saw action as a blocking tight end.
On Saturday, coach Nick Saban revealed some bad news — Randolph suffered a sprained ankle during Saturday’s scrimmage:
Saban said OL Kendall Randolph sprained his ankle today and was unable to finish the scrimmage.

This throws his availability for Week 1 into doubt, as ankle sprains, especially high ankle sprains, can take a few weeks to fully heal. So, while it’s likely not a season-ending issue, we’ll have to see how long it takes Randolph to return to action.
Last year, Randolph played in all 13 games for the Tide, logging 313 total snaps between the tackle and tight end positions.
