Alabama is headed to the College Football Playoff, but the Tide will be without their starting center, Landon Dickerson.
Nick Saban announced that news on Sunday afternoon.

Dickerson suffered the injury in Alabama’s victory over Florida in the SEC Championship Game on Saturday.
In addition to being one of Alabama’s best linemen, he’s one of the most important leaders on the team as well. His teammates went out of their way to encourage him as he was being carted off the field vs. the Gators:

Dickerson joined Alabama for the 2019 season after transferring from Florida State. He immediately won the starting job as a junior and ended up a second-team All-SEC honoree in 2019.
This season as a senior, Dickerson was a semifinalist for the Outland Trophy and was PFF’s No. 1 run blocking center in the entire country. He’s also expected to be a contender for the Rimington trophy.
It’s not yet clear who will replace Dickerson in the starting lineup. Chris Owens and Darrian Dalcourt seem like the most likely options heading into bowl prep.
Alabama and Notre Dame will kick off their CFP semifinal on Jan. 2, 2021.
