At halftime of the National Title Game in Tampa, Alabama has a slim 14-7 lead over Clemson.

Running back Bo Scarbrough has yet again starred for the Crimson Tide — accruing 76 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled in the first half. He went 7-of-16 for 40 yards, and had multiple passes batted down at the line of scrimmage.

When asked about the first half of play, head coach Nick Saban had this to say:

“We’ve been a little inconsistent. We broke a couple of runs, but we had a couple of drops and a couple of batted balls. We have to be more consistent in what we’re doing. We stopped ourselves with penalties a couple of time. These guys are pretty good, so we have to do a better job of executing.”

While Clemson is keeping this game close, there are two stats favoring Alabama going forward:

The Crimson Tide have won 23-straight games in which they’ve led at halftime. They’re also 107-6 under Saban when leading at the midway point.
