Alabama coach Nick Saban spoke to the media Monday and delivered the latest news on defensive lineman Raekwon Davis, who was shot in the right leg early Sunday.
There hasn’t been a lot of information released to this point, but Saban elaborated on the situation when asked about his talented young defender.
Saban on Raekwon Davis: "He's released from hospital & here getting treatment. His status moving forward will be a medical decision."

Sometimes, players are just in the wrong situation at the wrong time. At least, that’s what Saban thinks up to this point.
Saban: "Still gathering information (on Raekwon Davis). Doesn't seem like our players were guilty of anything other than being out late."

The former Mississippi native only had four tackles last season, but earned a starting role according to Alabama’s newly released depth chart. He is one of the talented, younger players Saban was counting on to have a vital role on the defensive line with a number of depleting losses from last year’s team.
Davis, a former 4-star recruit, is imposing at 6-7 and 330 pounds. See below.

It’s a safe guess that Florida State offensive lineman shouldn’t have to worry about him taking the field on Saturday. But then again, crazier things have happened in college football.
