There was a lot for No. 1 Alabama’s players and coaches to be excited about in their 44-13 win over 14th-ranked Miami on Saturday.
But the 20-yard touchdown run by Trey Sanders in the third quarter that put The Crimson Tide up 41-3 was unquestionably one of the biggest highlights.
Sanders, a 6-foot, 214-pound redshirt sophomore, missed most of the last 2 seasons due to injury — including a devastating hip injury suffered in a car accident — but he has fought his way back to the field, much to the delight of head coach Nick Saban.
After the game, Saban took some time to single out Sanders’ run as a special moment:

“There’s probably nobody on our team that’s had more adversity and more things to overcome,” said Saban of Sanders. “I was as happy as all get out to see him score a touchdown. I was really, really pleased about that.”
For the day, Sanders finished with 8 carries for 41-yards.
