There are few programs in college football who are able to consistently challenge Alabama, but Nick Saban strives for his team to challenge themselves each and every week.

After a thrilling comeback victory on the road against Ole Miss, the Crimson Tide returned home for a 48-0 shutout against Saban’s alma mater, Kent State.

“I feel like we played a complete game last week and hopefully we can build on that,” Saban said on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference.

Alabama will look for continued improvement against Kentucky on Saturday night. This is the time of year when young players begin to feel more comfortable as they gain more reps, but it’s something that Saban says everyone handles differently.

“It’s a work in progress, everyone handles it differently,” he said. “Maturity plays into it. A lot of guys have it, how they can be productive and if they do what is asked of them they can be productive. Many guys can’t handle the duties right away.”
