Nick Saban teases footage of famous Tua Tagovailoa conversation in new documentary

Nick Saban shared some new info regarding the upcoming documentary about his career that will be released next month.
The legendary Alabama head coach said the doc includes footage of his famous conversation with Tua Tagovailoa informing him that he would be replacing Jalen Hurts at halftime of the 2017-18 national championship game.
Hurts struggled mightily in the first half, but Alabama’s offense got going after Tagovailoa entered the game. The Crimson Tide ultimately won in overtime thanks to a touchdown pass from Tagovailoa on 2nd and 26.
The decision to replace Hurts with a freshman quarterback paid off and is regarded as one of the most impactful tactical adjustments in recent college football history. The moment it happened is captured in the documentary, Saban told Rich Eisen on Monday.
“When I told Tua that he was going in at halftime for Jalen, I didn’t know any of that [footage] existed,” Saban said, referencing the never-before-seen clips that will be shown in the documentary. “So to see all of that inside out sort of stuff that happens behind the scenes, I thought would be very, very interesting for fans in terms of the competitive nature of sports.”
The 6-part ‘Saban’ documentary will be available via the ESPN app on Oct. 8.
