Nick Sirianni delivers unique tribute to AJ Brown at Super Bowl press conference
Nick Sirianni appreciates every last one of his Philadelphia Eagles players in the aftermath of Sunday night’s stunning blowout victory in Super Bowl 59.
But on the morning after, the Eagles head coach chose 1 player, in particular, to make an example out of during the traditional Monday morning press conference for the winning head coach. That player was former Ole Miss star wideout AJ Brown, who is known for making big, bold statements and making big plays for his team.
On Monday morning, it was the head coach making a big statement on behalf of Brown, who had 3 catches for 43 yards and a touchdown to cap another stellar season with his first Super Bowl championship. For Brown, it all began at Starkville High School in Mississippi, and somehow, some way, Sirianni got his hands on Brown’s high school jersey and chose to don it at Monday’s press conference with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.
Back to Sunday night, during an interview on ESPN’s postgame show, when Sirianni praised Brown with the wide receiver by his side on the set.
“It takes special people with a good heart. This is one of the best people in the NFL,” said Sirianni of Brown. “He’s selfless. He’s a world champ forever, and we can’t be world champs without him.”
And on the morning after, Sirianni paid Brown the ultimate tribute.
