No wonder Spurrier wants Willie Taggart to stay: Seminoles biggest underdogs in last 40 years in matchup against Clemson

Things have been pretty bad in Tallahassee during the first two years of the Willie Taggart era at Florida State. The Seminoles blew a big lead to Boise State to start the season with a loss at home, needed overtime and a missed extra point to beat Louisiana-Monroe and then lost to Virginia to drop to 1-2.
Two wins against Louisville and NC State have brought some sanity to FSU fans, but a matchup against No. 2 Clemson is looming and, boy, are the Seminoles major underdogs.
How big are the Tigers favored by? Try 27 points, the largest dog the Seminoles have been in the past 40 years according to ESPN’s Stats & Info. In fact, the only other time an opposing team was favored by at least 20 points during that time period was in 2009 against in-state rival Florida. The Gators covered, winning 37-10 in The Swamp.
The way Clemson has been playing, the Seminoles might have a chance to cover the 27-point spread but, if the Tigers get rolling, things could get ugly extremely quickly for Taggart and company in Death Valley.
I’m sure SEC fans won’t have any problem with that happening.
