North Carolina commit GG Jackson, the No. 1 player in 2023 class, receives crystal ball for South Carolina

247 Sports rates power forward GG Jackson as the No. 1 overall commit in the 2023 cycle. In April, Jackson committed to Hubert Davis and North Carolina, who seem to be on the right track towards continuing the Tar Heels’ tradition of being a giant in the college basketball landscape.
But there might be a small hiccup in the road. Insiders from both On3 Sports and 247 Sports recently submitted crystal balls for the top-ranked prospect to land in Columbia, South Carolina next season.

South Carolina was considered a serious candidate to land Jackson before the school parted ways with long time head coach Frank Martin in March. Now, the Gamecocks are looking on to the future.
And Jackson would certainly be quite the place to start, as the gamecocks do not yet have a commitment in place for the 2023 cycle. Maybe, just maybe, that’s about to change.
