How can you tell North Carolina hasn’t won anything of significance on the football field?
The Tar Heels just handed out rings with “state champs” written on the side after going 8-4 and losing the Orange Bowl to Texas A&M.
After losing basically every meaningful game on the schedule last fall, the Tar Heels fell to Florida State, Virginia, Notre Dame and Texas A&M (they did not face Clemson last season), North Carolina had to figure out something to celebrate.
Beating NC State, Duke and Wake Forest turned out to be reason enough to celebrate.
