Notre Dame will have a brand-new look when the Fighting Irish make their long-awaited return to Notre Dame Stadium this fall.

On Friday, head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive back Jordan Clark made an appearance on ESPN’s “First Take” to discuss the upcoming season. In the process, the two showed off the new home uniform Notre Dame will wear this fall.

The uniforms include the traditional navy base that the Fighting Irish have donned for years with the traditional white numbers. However, some new gold accents are the highlights.

A metallic gold “ND” logo on the sleeves are new touches while the white numbers are also outlined in metallic gold. Here is the up-close look at the new uniforms.

During the appearance on “First Take,” Freeman said it’s important that Notre Dame maintains its focus on traditions of the past while also finding ways to appeal to younger players. He believes the new home uniforms do that, updating a classic look with some well-designed upgrade.
