Updating an earlier story on Saturday Down South, former University of Alabama staffer Rob Sale has been named Georgia’s offensive line coach.

“We’re excited about the addition of Rob as our new offensive line coach and look forward to the contributions he’ll make to our program,” Coach Mark Richt said in a release. “I firmly believe he’s going to be the perfect fit for Georgia.”

Last year Georgia hired former Alabama assistant coach Jeremy Pruitt as its defensive coordinator, and new offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer recently told reporters that he interviewed with Nick Saban last year.

“This is a great opportunity and I’m ready to hit the road recruiting this week,” Sale said. “Top priority will be to see as many recruits as possible and help finish up this 2015 class. At the same time I’m also looking forward to meeting and getting to know our current players. It’s an exciting time to be joining a program with such a great history and tradition.”
