Ohio State dominated Tennessee on Saturday night to win the first-round College Football Playoff game in Columbus 42-17, setting up a rematch with Oregon in the Rose Bowl.

The Ducks, undefeated this season, enter as the No. 1 overall seed in the CFP bracket. The Buckeyes, meanwhile, have dropped 2 games this season. Ryan Day’s squad lost 32-31 at Oregon and 13-10 at home to Michigan. OSU is currently the betting favorite for Round 2 in Pasadena.

Early Rose Bowl betting lines came out late Saturday. Here is a look at the initial betting lines for Ohio State vs. Oregon in the Peach Bowl, via FanDuel:

  • Spread: Ohio State -1.5 (-106) | Oregon +1.5 (-114)
  • Total: Over 52.5 points (-115) | Under 52.5 points (-105)
  • Money line: Ohio State ML (-118) | Oregon ML (-102)

Ohio State and Oregon had a meeting to remember on Oct. 13 in Eugene. The Ducks led 22-21 at the half and the seesaw battle continued into the 4th quarter, with UO taking a 32-31 lead with 1:47 to go. The Buckeyes were unable to try a last-second field goal.

Beyond being a 1-point game between top-5 teams, the October meeting is remembered for Will Howard’s decision to run for yardage in the final seconds and the way Oregon seemingly benefited from a late defensive penalty (a rule that has been addressed).

The Ducks and Buckeyes looked to be on a collision course for a Big Ten Championship Game rematch. Then came OSU’s Michigan slip-up. Since Ohio State was ranked No. 2 entering The Game, the Buckeyes did not drop out of the CFP bracket.

Oregon last played on Dec. 7. The Ducks defeated then-No. 3 Penn State 45-37, never trailing, to secure a Big Ten championship. Ohio State heads to the Rose Bowl coming off of its best performance of the season.

The teams will play on Jan. 1 in Pasadena.
