Hughley is a big get for the Sooners. He will presumably replace Tanner Groves at center for Oklahoma next season.
He’s coming off of a difficult year with the Panthers where he only played in 8 games. However, the season before, Hughley averaged 14.8 points and 7.8 boards per contest.
Hughley will bring an element of physicality in the front court that Oklahoma has not had in the Porter Moser era. He finished 4th in the ACC in rebounding during the 2021-22 season.
Oklahoma has now picked up high-profile transfer commitments in back-to-back days. On Wednesday, the Sooners added former Siena point guard Javian McCollum. OU is expected to make more additions via the portal in the coming weeks.
