Oklahoma added some defensive line depth via the transfer portal late Tuesday evening.

The Sooners picked up a commitment from defensive tackle Siolaa Ricky Lolohea. He entered the transfer portal this spring after spending 1 season at Utah State. He began his career at Oklahoma State, but left Stillwater after his true freshman season in 2023.

Here’s Lolohea’s official announcement:

Last season, Lolohea recorded 10 tackles and 1 tackle for loss for the Aggies. His best game came against Ashton Jeanty and Boise State when he totaled 3 tackles on the day. He was a reserve for Utah State last season and played just 145 snaps at defensive tackle, per Pro Football Focus.

Oklahoma now has picked up 3 transfer commitments so far this spring. Former Cal running back Jaydn Ott and ex-Stanford offensive lineman Jake Maikulla were first to join the fold. Oklahoma is expected to sign a tight end and possibly a few other contributors before finalizing its roster for the 2025 season.

Defensive projects to be a strong position group for the Sooners this fall. Damonic Williams, Jayden Jackson, David Stone and Gracen Halton are a few of the other interior D-linemen who will suit up for Oklahoma in 2025.

Lolohea will have 3 years of eligibility remaining.
