Ole Miss CB Derrick Jones wants to keep Egg Bowl trophy where it belongs

The last time Mississippi State beat Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl was a 17-10 victory in 2013. Rebels senior cornerback Derrick Jones would like to keep it that way.

Jones was a freshman on that 2013 team, but he’s known about this annual rivalry game for much longer than that. The defensive back attended high school in Mississippi and told reporters on Tuesday just how much this game means to him.

There is more on the line for Ole Miss than just bragging rights, however. A loss to Mississippi State would keep the Rebels from a possible bowl game and be a bitter end to a disappointing season.
