The Ole Miss Rebels enjoyed a weekend away from the field, but still managed to improve in this week’s Amway Coaches’ Poll, released Sunday afternoon. The Rebels jumped to No. 11 in the Coaches’ Poll, and stayed put at No. 10 in the Associated Press poll, also released Sunday.
Ole Miss can thank arch-rival Mississippi State for its rise in the Coaches’ Poll after the Bulldogs upset LSU in Death Valley Saturday night. LSU dropped in both polls after the loss.
The Rebels are now one of six SEC West teams ranked in both polls following State’s upset win, as only Arkansas sits outside the current top 25. Defending SEC East champion Missouri dropped out of the rankings following a home loss to Indiana, keeping the number of ranked SEC teams at eight overall.
