Ole Miss earned a commitment from former West Virginia wide receiver Traylon Ray on Wednesday evening. It did not take him long to make his decision, either, as he committed in the middle of his visit with the Rebels.
Ray had a successful season in 2024, reeling in 28 receptions for 426 yards with 4 touchdowns for the Mountaineers.
Here’s his announcement:
Ray joins a wide receiver room that includes several new faces in the portal, considering this has been such a position of need for the Rebels. There are four new wideouts obtained by the portal, including Deuce Alexander (Wake Forest), Caleb Odom (Alabama) and De’Zhaun Stripling (Oklahoma State).
It will be interesting to watch how he ultimately fits in with the scheme under Lane Kiffin in his high-flying offense, where Ray will have a huge change to achieve a high level of production. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has two years of eligibility remaining.
Ole Miss has landed 16 transfer commitments so far this offseason. The group ranks No. 3 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
