Ole Miss puts 25 players on initial injury report for South Carolina game
Ole Miss is looking to bounce back in Week 6 after suffering a tough loss at home to Kentucky in Week 5.
The Rebels may be far from full strength, however, as the team has listed a whopping 25 players on the initial availability report.
Each SEC team is mandated to release an availability report each Wednesday before a game. The list will undoubtedly change between now and kickoff, but it’s concerning to see so many players on the initial list.
Corner Cedrick Beavers, wide receivers Izaiah Hartrup, Devin Price, and Joshua Pfeifer, tight end Hudson Wolfe, offensive lineman Cam East, and running back Logan Diggs are all listed as out. OL Jayden Williams is the only player listed as doubtful, while 12 players are listed as questionable and 5 are listed as probable.
WR Tre Harris, RB Henry Parrish, and RB Matt Jones are the most notable names listed as questionable.
The Gamecocks aren’t fully healthy either. Starting QB LaNorris Sellers and star RB Raheim Sanders are both listed as questionable for the Week 6 matchup. If Sellers can’t play, former Auburn QB Robby Ashford will get the call under center.
Ole Miss and South Carolina will issue updated availability reports on Thursday evening.
The last time these SEC rivals played was in 2020. The Rebels were victorious in that game, winning 59-42.
The Rebels and Gamecocks will kick off from Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
