The Ole Miss quarterback and linebacker rooms have been reduced by 1 player.
Kinkead Dent, a member of the program since 2019, and Jamond Gordon, a JUCO transfer ahead of the 2021 campaign, have reportedly entered the transfer portal, according to On3 and 247Sports.
Dent was a 3-star recruit for Matt Luke out of the class of 2019 and remained with the program when Lane Kiffin took the reins following Luke’s firing. The Jackson, Miss.-area product was used sparingly throughout his time in Oxford as he completed 3 of his 5 pass attempts for 7 yards.
Gordon, who joined the program from East Mississippi Community College, was credited with 13 tackles in 2021. In 2022, through 12 games, he totaled 8 tackles and a TFL.
Ole Miss did add a player from the portal on Wednesday as former LSU QB Walker Howard to its ranks. Howard was a 4-star recruit out of the class of 2022, according to 247Sports, and was considered the No. 5 player in the country at his position.
